CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 Latest Update: There is some important news that the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 candidates must not miss. As the board exam candidates are eagerly waiting for a decision on the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021, the Supreme Court will hear to a PIL filed by Advocate Mamta Sharma seeking the cancellation of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 today. Live Law has tweeted from its official Twitter handle, "Supreme Court to hear today at 10.30 AM a PIL seeking cancellation of Class 12 CBSE exam due to COVID.PIL filed by Advocate Mamta Sharma @AdvMamtaSharma#CBSE #cbseboardexams2021 @cbseindia29 #Class12Exam." The plea was filed by Mamta Sharma earlier this month seeking the cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 sue to the COVID-19 situation in the country.
Incidentally, on April 14, 2021, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had announced the cancellation of the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 and postponement of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. Soon after the CBSE announced their decision, the CISCE and other state boards followed suit. The CBSE further stated that a decision on the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 will be notified to the students after a thorough review of the situation by June 1, 2021.
Several students and guardians are concerned about conducting the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 amidst this pandemic situation. In this context, several Class 12 Board Exam 2021 candidates had taken to Twitter and used the hashtag #saveboardstudents with the intent of getting the class 12 board exams cancelled. In the tweets, students also urged the authorities to cancel the Class 12 Board Exam 2021. Some also suggested to evaluate them through a criteria similar to the one used for CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students.
Now, on May 23, 2021, a high-level government meeting was conducted to discuss about the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 and other state board exams. The meeting was attended by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriya Nishank. In the meeting, various options regarding the methodology, process, duration and timings of the exams were discussed. While a broad consensus was there, however, it was decided that States and UTs may like to further examine the matter and send their feedback in writing by the May 25, 2021.
Though majority of the states and union territories were in favour of conducting the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021, some states felt that vaccination of the students should be done first before conducting the exams.
With the PIL hearing by the apex court today and as per CBSE's earlier notification on the announcement on the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 by June 1, 2021, it is expected that an official announcement on the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 is likely to be made soon.
