External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to visit Vietnam and Singapore from October 15 to 20
During the visit, EAM will also visit Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and is expected to hold talks with the Vietnamese leadership.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will co-chair the 18th meeting of the India-Vietnam Joint Commission on Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation with his Vietnamese counterpart as will visit Vietnam next week, Ministry of External Affairs said on Saturday.
As per the MEA press release, EAM Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Vietnam from October 15-18 at the invitation of Vietnam Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bui Thanh Son.
During the visit, EAM will also visit Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and is expected to hold talks with the Vietnamese leadership. He will also meet members of the Indian community and unveil Mahatma Gandhi's Bust in Ho Chi Minh City.
As per MEA, India and Vietnam share a robust Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Vietnam is a key member of our Act East Policy. EAM's visit will provide an opportunity to review progress in several areas and discuss ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
Later On, EAM will leave for Singapore on an official visit from October 19 to 20.
According to the MEA release, during his visit, EAM will meet his Singaporean counterpart and the top leadership of the country. He will also chair the regional conference of Indian Heads of Missions.
India and Singapore enjoy a historical relationship that was elevated to a Strategic Partnership in 2015.
In 2023, both sides had several Ministerial interactions on the sidelines of the G20 held under India's Presidency, for which Singapore was invited as a guest country. Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited New Delhi to participate in the G20 Summit in September this year, added an MEA press release.
