Yashobhoomi highlights: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the Yashobhoomi international convention and expo centre in Dwarka, New Delhi, on Sunday, September 17. The Rs 13,000-crore PM Vishwakarma scheme is aimed at improving the training, quality, and outreach of traditional artisans and craftsmen. The ambitious scheme is expected to help around 30 lakh craftsmen like weavers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, laundry workers and barbers, among others.
It aims to tap the 'guru-shishya' tradition or family-based practice of traditional skills by artisans and craftsmen working with their hands and tools, according to an official statement.

According to an official statement, the Delhi Metro will increase the operational speed of trains on the Airport Express Line from 90 to 120 km/hour, completing journeys from New Delhi to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 in about 21 minutes.

PM Narendra Modi greets people on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti
The Prime Minister saluted all the craftsmen and creators who are taking innovation in society forward with their dedication, talent and hard work.
The Prime Minister's Vishwakarma scheme will provide recognition to the Vishwakarma community through PM Vishwakarma certificates and ID cards, using which, the eligible individuals will be able to avail subsidised loans of up to Rs 1 lakh in the first tranche and Rs 2 lakh in the second tranche. These loans will be given at a concessional interest rate of five per cent.
The PM had announced the PM Vishwakarma scheme in his August 15 speech.

The PM Vishwakarma scheme, aimed at supporting and skilling the people engaged in traditional crafts, will cover 18 crafts and will be fully funded by the Centre at an outlay of Rs 13,000 crore.

PM Modi says Yashobhoomi going to be synonymous with sustainability
"I am confident this will be a very sought after destination for conferences and meetings. It will draw delegates from all around the world," PM Narendra Modi wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on the eve of the official inauguration of the Yashobhoomi convention centre. The PM also said that the Yashobhoomi complex has received Platinum certification from Indian Green Building Council.
The Yashobhoomi convention centre is equipped with a modern wastewater treatment system and provisions for rainwater harvesting.

The exhibition halls are spread across over 1.07 lakh square metres of area, and will be utilised for hosting:

The Yashobhoomi exhibition halls are connected to a grand foyer space uniquely designed with a copper ceiling that filters light through the various skylights. The Yashobhoomi foyer houses a host of support areas such as media rooms, VVIP lounges, cloak facilities, a visitor information centre and ticketing counters.
