Gurgaon-headquartered low-cost airline SpiceJet is all set to expand its fleet before peak travel season. The aviation firm will induct 10 additional aircraft to bolster its fleet, according to sources familiar with the development told Zee Business.

These new planes will help the airline expand its capacity ensuring an immediate response to the growing travel demand, the sources said.

SpiceJet also plans to add about 60 new flights to its network, significantly enhancing its connectivity across key domestic and international routes. These new flights will cater to popular routes and underserved destinations, offering travellers more choices and convenience.

"This expansion is strategically timed to capitalise on the upcoming peak travel season. The increased capacity will enable the airline to meet the surge in passenger demand during holidays and festive seasons," said sources.

Meanwhile, SpiceJet is holding investor roadshows in Mumbai, Singapore, and Hong Kong to generate interest for QIP to raise Rs 3,000 crore. CMD Ajay Singh will likely dilute a 10 per cent stake through QIP.

ICICI Securities, JM Financial, and DAM Capital are acting as the merchant bankers for the stake sale.

SpiceJet said on Monday that it had received a commendation from the Ministry of Civil Aviation for its exceptional customer service and timely resolution of complaints.

The ministry’s AirSewa initiative—which provides a common platform for air travelers to submit their grievances and seek information on flights or airports in the country—praised SpiceJet foar “its professionalism, courtesy, and dedication in addressing passenger concerns for the second consecutive year”, the airline said in a press release.
