Zomato's 'book now, sell anytime’ feature: Through this, the users can book a ticket for an event in advance and sell them later in case they don't want to use it, and if another customer purchases the listed ticket, the seller's ticket will be cancelled.
Online food delivery platform Zomato has launched the 'book now, sell anytime’ feature on its app, according to a social media post on X.
This comes a few days after the company announced that it will acquire Paytm's entertainment and ticketing business for Rs 2,048 crore. The deal was approved by the directors of the board of both Paytm and Zomato on August 21, according to a stock market disclosure.
The new feature will be live on the app from September 30, 2024, starting with the Zomato Feeding India Concert, which will be headlined by Dua Lipa.
Through this, the users can book a ticket for an event in advance and sell them later in case they don't want to use it, and if another customer purchases the listed ticket, the seller's ticket will be cancelled.

“If their plans change for any reason, they can list their ticket on the Zomato app for a price lower or higher than their original purchase price (capped at 2x of the current phase price live on the ticketing platform),” Zomato Live Entertainment CEO Zeenah Vilcassim wrote in a blog post.
How will the 'book now, sell anytime’ feature work?
- A user can buy a maximum of 10 tickets at a time.
- They will be able to list above or below the original purchase price.
- The price limit will be 2x the market price.
- After the seller's ticket is sold, the amount will be given to the user.
- This feature will start from 30 September 2024.
For example, if a customer purchased an early bird ticket for Rs 1,000 and the current phase is live at Rs 2,000, the customer can list their ticket for any price up to Rs 4,000.

Meanwhile, shares of Zomato closed at Rs 256 each, down 1.31 per cent on BSE today, August 27.
