World's first airline serves the 'Impossible Burger', which even bleeds
Air New Zealand will serve the 'Impossible Burger', a plant-based product that looks, even smells, like beef very soon
Airlines across the world are introducing innovative services and foods to hook their customers. In a latest development, Air New Zealand will serve the 'Impossible Burger', a plant-based product that looks, even smells, like beef very soon. The faux-burger has fast been making its way into restaurants around America since its launch some 2 years ago. Now, it is virtually set to soar.
Only business class passengers on Air New Zealand will be able to savour the Impossible Burger and that too on Los Angeles-Auckland flights till late October, according to travel portal Traveller. With this, the airline will be first one to serve this burger which appears to be bleeding. Stanford biochemistry professor Patrick O. Brown introduced the Impossible Burger about seven years ago. Brown was backed by a number of major investors, Bill Gates being one.
Brown made this burger to make an appeal to the vegetarians who had given up meat on moral grounds but still yearned for the real thing, the report said. When the burger is slapped on to a grill, it turns from red to brown, like one made from beef and the burger also tastes identical, the report said citing Brown. The other ingredients in the burger include wheat, coconut oil and potatoes.
