Paytm First launched to take on Amazon Prime, Flipkart Plus

Introducing a loyalty programme covering paid subscriptions of several companies including Zomato, Eros Now, Sony Liv, Viu Premium, and Uber, Paytm today launched Paytm First to retain customers by rewarding them for their repeat purchase behaviour. The company is offering “Paytm First” service at Rs 750 with an inaugural cashback of Rs 100 for a very limited time, said the company statement. 

The Paytm First customers will enjoy a wide range of exclusive benefits from leading partnered brands. The new model is set to take on Amazon's Prime subscription and Flipkart's Plus membership. Under this competition, the Paytm First reportedly offers annual subscriptions to Gaana, Sony Liv, and Eros Now, wherein, customers will receive Zomato Gold membership along with ViU Premium. The members will also get monetary benefits of up to Rs 6,000 and Uber Eats benefits up to Rs 2,400. '

Further, Paytm also claims that the new model would provide partner offers worth over Rs 12,000. The company also claims that Paytm First customers will also get over Rs 1,500 cashback, including Rs 100 cashback on movie ticket booking each month. The programme is designed to extend exclusive shopping offers on Paytm Mall with unlimited free and priority shipping, said the statement.

Deepak Abbot, Senior Vice President of Paytm, said that Paytm First customers loyalty programme will be open to all Android app on March 5, while iOS app users would be able to avail this opportunity on March 6. 

Abbot further said, "We are happy to have partnered with leading players from their respective verticals during the initial launch phase itself, and we will continue to expand the Paytm First programme with more benefits and value to our customers." 

Customers can subscribe to the Paytm First programme by paying an annual fee of Rs 750, but Paytm in an introductory offer is giving cashback worth Rs 100 for a limited time.

The company is stated to be offering over Rs 1,500 of cashback to those customers who would opt the Paytm First membership. Paytm First customers will also be able to avail of exclusive offers on Paytm Mall along with enjoying unlimited free and priority shipping, and access to priority 24x7 customer care.

In order to increase customer retention through the Paytm First programme, the company is set to sell over three million Paytm First subscription within the first year of its launch.
