Fast Moving Consumer Goods company Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced hike in prices of many products. The FMCG major has increased the prices by up to 20 per cent of its soaps, detergent and products from other categories.
Some of its flagship products that have witnessed an increase in prices include Rin soap, Surf Excel detergent. Other products whose prices have been increased include Lifebuoy and Pears.

The cost has been raised on the back of rising prices of the raw material. Last time HUL raised the prices of its products was in November 2021.
According to many distributors of FMCG companies, other companies are likely to follow suit and we could soon see the price hikes for products from other companies.
The rising material cost has been hitting other FMCG companies as well.
All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation’s (AICPDF) National President Dhairyasheel Patil after HUL’s price hikes, other FMCG companies are also ready to increase the price of their products owing to the rising prices of the raw material.
He was of the view that the rise in prices could lead to higher situation further denting the consumption situation under the existing circumstances.

1) RIN BAR – 10-20 per cent hike
2) LIFE BUOY 125 GMS - 29 TO 31
3) PEARS 125 GMS -76 TO 83
4) WHEEL POWDER 1KG 60 TO 62
