Avenue Supermarts' standalone net profit surges to Rs 449 crore in Q2FY22 results

Avenue Supermarts Ltd, which owns and operates retail chain D-Mart, has reported its standalone net profit after tax at Rs 448.90 crore for the quarter ended September 2021. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 210.20 crore in the year-ago period.
The company registered its standalone revenue from operations of Rs 7,649.64 crore in the September quarter, against Rs 5,218.15 crore in the same quarter a year ago, Avenue Supermarts informed the BSE in a regulatory filing.
Avenue Supermarts reported its standalone total income of Rs 7,682.63 crore in the September quarter, against Rs 5,273.96 crore in the same quarter a year ago, it informed the BSE in a regulatory filing.
The company's standalone total expenses stood at Rs 7,085.58 crore in the second quarter ended on 30th September 2021, against Rs 4,991.55 crore in the same quarter a year ago, it informed.
Promoted by Radhakishan Damani and his family, DMart retails basic home and personal products across markets which include - Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, NCR, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Rajasthan.

The company informed that the statement includes unaudited interim financial results and other unaudited financial information in respect of 3 subsidiaries, whose unaudited interim financial results include total assets of Rs 43.04 crore as of September 30, 2021, total revenue of Rs 10.03 crore, and Rs 13.03 crore, total net profit / (loss) after tax of Rs 0.82 crore and Rs (0.21) crore and total comprehensive profit/(loss) of Rs 0.82 crore and Rs (0.21) crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2021 and the period ended on that date respectively, and net cash inflow of Rs 0.93 crore for the period from April 01, 2021 to September 30, 2021, as considered in the Statement whose interim financial results and other financial information have not been reviewed by their auditors
