2) Standalone stores, retail chains and stores in malls are offering cruises, lucky draws for home and cars etc. How is Amazon planning to beat this?
Our philosophy is being transparent to the customer. Prime members can shop in advance. We do not encourage lucky draw etc. Growth of retail industry will happen online and offline simultaneously. Amazon has 75,000 small stores with large retail chains like Croma etc. Established retail chains also get extra customers by coming online.
3) The world is going through a chip and semiconductor shortage, how is Amazon planning to beat this supply and demand mismatch?
We are managing semiconductor and chip shortages. Surveys have been conducted for big brand partners like Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Apple to know what customers want. Surveys allows the brand to know which device or product to make first, which customers like the most.
4) What is the sale target for this year? Will Amazon be able to achieve it?
Amazon's sale target is not monetary but to keep our 8.5 lakh sellers happy. Amazon's sale is for 30 days, they help in warehousing etc. Our focus is to help small sellers. From today till October 4, 6 crore such products will be sold, on which the customers will get incentives. 8.5 lakh sellers will already be provided with sales before Diwali.
5) E-Commerce companies are facing a lot of flak from CAIT and newly drafted e-commerce rules are also not in favour. What would you like to comment on this?
Draft rule is the policy of the government and they are taking feedback. E-commerce will help the country in increasing digitization. Amazon wants stable and enabling policy that does not change frequently. Will work closely with the government and have full confidence on them. In the last 12-18 months, 3 lakh small sellers have come together. 75,000 small shops are preparing for Diwali sale from 450 cities.
