Suzuki Motorcycle launches 2017 Gixxer SP Series in India price starting at Rs 81,175

Suzuki Motorcycle India launched its exclusive 2017 series of the Gixxer SF SP with anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Fuel Injection and the Gixxer SP in India. While the Gixxer SF SP is priced at Rs 99,312 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Gixxer SP comes at a price tag of Rs 81,175 (ex-showroom Delhi).

In terms of the engine the Suzuki Gixxer SF SP and Gixxer SP comes with a 155cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine producing a power of 14.8BHP and 14Nm torque. The engine has a 5-speed gearbox.

While the Gixxer SP's engine has a carburetted unit, the Gixxer SF SP uses a fuel injection system.

The Gixxer SF SP is the first motorcycle in the 160cc segment to feature the ABS.

The Gixxer SP will take on other sports bikes in the 160cc segment like the Honda CB Hornet 160R, Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 and the Yamaha FZ V2.0.

The Honda CB Hornet 160R is priced between Rs 82,841 to Rs 87,208, the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 is priced at Rs 82,400 (ex-showroom Pune) and the Yamaha FZ V2.0 is priced at Rs 83,042 (ex-showroom Delhi).

In terms of price there is very little difference between the competitor bikes.

While the Suzuki Gixxer SF SP will rival the Yamaha Fazer V2.0. However, the Yamaha Fazer V2.0 is priced much lower in comparison to the Suzuki Gixxer SF SP as it is available for Rs 88,143 (ex-showroom Delhi).

This is a vast difference of over Rs 11,000 between the two bikes competing in the same segment, which could make a difference.

However, the Gixxer SF SP has an edge as the it comes with a much more power 155cc engine, in comparison to Yamaha Fazer V2.0's 149cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces a power of 13 BHP and torque of 12.80Nm.
