Ola Electric Scooter! Anand Mahindra applauds e-Scooter after strong booking response

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra never misses any chance to appreciate good deeds. This time he has praised Ola Electric for receiving a robust response on its e-scooter booking. 

Mahindra tweeted: “No matter how this scooter ultimately fares, it is exciting to see courage & risk-taking being rewarded.  The more entrepreneurs that follow the lead of @bhash & show no fear of failure, the more robust Indian innovation will become…”

The company reported on Saturday, July 17 that it had registered over 1 lakh orders for its e-scooter within a day of opening bookings. Impressed with the feat, Mahindra, who regularly tweets on such things, stated that it is exciting to see "courage and risk-taking being rewarded”.

He praised Ola Chairman and Group CEO Bhavish Aggarwal. He also added that more entrepreneurs should follow Aggarwal's example and show no fear of failure as this would make Indian innovation more robust.

The company has mentioned that the Ola e-scooter will come with class-leading speed, range, largest-in-class boot space, superior range and many first-in-class features and the e-scooter will be priced aggressively to make it widely accessible. "The Ola Scooter will be competitively priced, and the final pricing will be announced soon," Ola Electric said on its website. 

Ola has mentioned that the Electric Scooter has features like automatic routing through charging stations en route, smart charging system that’s fully automated to charge without the need for card or cash, and connected app to keep an eye on the charging status. 

Ola announced on July 15 that the Electric Scooter can be reserved by paying just Rs 499. Ola had tweeted: “It’s day 1 of the revolution, the day we’ve all been eagerly waiting for! The Ola Electric Scooter can now be reserved at just Rs 499. So #ReserveNow to #JoinTheRevolution at http://olaelectric.com and be first in line to the future of mobility!” 

On booking and cancellation, Ola has replied: “Reserving an Ola Scooter by paying Rs 499 means that you will be first in line to purchase it when we announce deliveries. You can cancel and get a refund anytime. To reserve your Ola Scooter, simply click here. You'll have to login via your phone number, using an OTP validation. Post signing in, you can reserve your Ola Scooter by paying Rs 499 using netbanking, credit/debit cards, UPI, e-wallets or through OlaMoney. Yes, you may reserve multiple scooters if you wish.” 

“Yes, you can cancel or modify your order in the near future. The reservation amount is completely refundable. Upon cancellation, the refund will be made to your original mode of payment within 7-10 working days,” Ola said.
