More power to them! Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Ertiga to get enhanced engines - Find out more
Maruti Suzuki is in the process of replacing the 1.3-litre diesel engine with the 1.5-litre diesel engine in Ciaz and Ertiga MPV. At present Ciaz is available in two engine options -- a 1.5-litre K15 petrol motor and a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel powertrain. The carmaker is likely to announce the prices of Ciaz 1.5 diesel and Ertiga 1.5 diesel by this month. The BS-IV version of Ciaz and the Ertiga will be equipped with the new engine and will be later upgraded to BS-VI norms around April 2020. Both the cars will come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard.
Following variants of Ciaz will get the new 1.5-litre engine
-Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Delta 1.5 diesel
-Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Zeta 1.5 diesel
-Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Alpha 1.5 diesel
These Maruti Suzuki Ertiga variants will get the new 1.5-litre diesel engine
-Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDi 1.5 diesel
-Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZDi 1.5 diesel
-Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZDi+ 1.5 diesel
At present Maruti Suzuki Ciaz offers 1.5 litre petrol Smart Hybrid engine, next generation Smart Hybrid technology with Li-ion battery, 1.3 litre DDiS Smart Hybrid diesel engine option. NEXA Blue, a signature color, contributes to more than 25 percent of sales for Ciaz, the company said. It has next generation features like Cruise Control, Auto headlamp and Auto headlamp. Since its launch, Maruti Ciaz has sold over 234,000 units.
The present Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is based on the new Heartech platform and features 1.5-litre petrol engine. The car comes with safety features like ABS, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, emergency stability programme, Hill assist, Reverse Parking Camera, reverse parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard across the range. The car has dual tone interior along with leather-wrapped steering wheel, one touch down second-row seat and maple wood finish.
