Launched! Mahindra Thar 2020 price starts at Rs 9.8 lakh: Check how much each variant costs

Mahindra Thar 2020 is here. The car was unveiled on August 15 and the launch has finally happened on Friday with the car-maker also announcing the prices of all variants. The price of second-generation Mahindra Thar starts at Rs 9.8 lakh for the base model. While most details about the car were revealed in August, only the pricing was yet to be announced. 

The prices for the Mahindra Thar AX variants start at Rs 9.8 lakh, going up to Rs 12.2 lakh, all prices ex-showroom. Thar luxury-focused LX variant prices start from Rs 12.49 lakh for the hard-top convertible petrol and go up to Rs 12.95 lakh for the diesel. 

Not only the price of Thar was revealed, but Mahindra has also started taking the bookings for the SUV after the launch. The first unit of Mahindra Thar was sold in an auction at a whopping Rs 1.10 crore and the winner was Akash Minda from Delhi. 

Mahindra has made several changes to the design of the new Thar. The car comes with all new exteriors and interiors. The Mahindra SUV would feature BSVI compliant petrol and diesel powertrains mated to six speed manual and automatic transmissions.
