BYD has launched the eMax 7, a feature-rich electric SUV, with a range of up to 530 km on a single charge. Available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations, bookings for the vehicle have already begun, with a booking amount set at Rs 51,000. The launch is aimed at boosting sales during the festive season.
Battery Variants and Performance
The eMax 7 is offered in two battery options—55.4 kWh and 71.8 kWh. The 55.4 kWh variant delivers a range of 420 km, while the larger 71.8 kWh battery offers a range of 530 km per charge. The electric SUV boasts a top speed of 180 kmph and accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.6 seconds.
Equipped with a powerful motor, the eMax 7 generates 115 kW of peak power and 310 Nm of maximum torque. The SUV supports both AC and DC charging. Using an 80 kW fast DC charger, it can charge from 0 to 80% in just 37 minutes.
Design and Features
The BYD eMax 7 comes with an aerodynamic design and a signature dragon-nose fascia. Its front features crystal diamond floating LED headlights, while 17-inch alloy wheels and LED taillights enhance its sporty look. The car offers 180 liters of boot space, which expands to 580 liters with the third row folded.
Inside, the eMax 7 boasts a dual-tone interior with a 3-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, a 5-inch instrument cluster, and a 12.8-inch rotating infotainment system. The front seats are ventilated, and the vehicle includes premium features like a wireless charger, smart gear shifter, and a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade.
Advanced Technology and Safety
The eMax 7 is loaded with cutting-edge technology, including an 8-in-1 electric powertrain and BYD’s proprietary blade battery. It also comes equipped with six airbags and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), featuring ABS, ESC, and regenerative braking. A Vehicle-to-Load (VTOL) function adds to its utility.
Pricing
The BYD eMax 7 starts at Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 6-seater Premium variant, with the 7-seater priced at Rs 27.50 lakh. The Superior variant is priced at Rs 29.30 lakh (6-seater) and Rs 29.90 lakh (7-seater). This latest offering from BYD promises to attract EV enthusiasts with its range, technology, and safety features.
