Battery Swapping policy: The Battery Swapping policy may come by the end of this year, said Sudhendu Sinha, Advisor of Niti Aayog. Suggestions have been sought on the draft policy by June 5, 2022.
Regarding this, the discussion will be held with all the stakeholders and the policy will be finalized after Inter-Ministerial Consultations. Such centers will be made where there is a facility to change the battery in the shortest possible time. NITI Aayog advisor Sudhendu Sinha tells Zee Business.
He said that every battery has a life. Its recycling will lead to the development of a circular economy. The Ministry of Environment will also issue Waste Management Guidelines soon. Not only this, but a big policy regarding this will also come soon. With these two policies, not only will the battery of the electric vehicle be cheaper, but the cost of the vehicles will also be lower.
People will be attracted towards EVs with the convenience of spending less money in one lump sum. This will increase the affordability of the vehicles and more people will be able to buy them. Swapping is essential for the ecosystem, said Sinha.
