WhatsApp to introduce redesigned chat lists interface for Android users: Here’s all you need to know about changes the update brings

Popular social media site, WhatsApp, is introducing a new feature for Android users via the latest beta update, version 2.24.25.8. According to a report, the latest update brings a redesigned chat lists interface. Currently, the update is available to select beta testers and is likely to reach a wider audience in the upcoming weeks. 

The update is seen as WhatsApp’s efforts to enhance the user experience. Previously, WhatsApp brought a feature that enabled users to delete preset chat filters, such as “Unread” and “Groups”. The latest update expands this feature to a wider audience and makes it more user-friendly. It allows users to easily manage, delete, and create custom chat lists directly from the chat interface. Users simply need to tap and hold on to the filter to delete a preset one, which reveals the option to remove it. 

The latest update also brings a notable change pertaining to the organisation of the chat list interface. At the top of the screen, filters such as ‘Favourites’ and ‘Various Conversations’ are displayed. Below the main filters, a designed button has been included, which allows users to seamlessly create a new custom list. The new button aligns with other action buttons in the app, offering a modern look to the interface. Additionally, other buttons are available next to the deleted preset filters, giving an option to users to restore them.  

The design of the interface for managing, creating, and deleting chat lists has been totally revamped to align with the style of other sections of the app, including “Security” and “Mail” settings. The new layout gives away a simplified look, making navigation and accessing essential features easier than before. 

With this update, WhatsApp aims to provide a well-organised and efficient experience for users to manage their conversations, ultimately improving the overall functionality of the app.
