Indian pacer took to Twitter to announce his marriage with Sanjana Ganesan and wrote, " “Love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course. Steered by love, we have begun a new journey together. Today is one of the happiest days of our lives and we feel blessed to be able to share the news of our wedding and our joy with you."
Earlier, Bumrah's IPL side Mumbai Indians announced the wedding by posting two photos of the wedding ceremony.
Meanwhile, the wedding was a close-knit affair and was attended by family and friends of the couple. Sanjana is a TV presenter and works for a leading sports channel.
Earlier, Bumrah decided to opt-out of the fourth and final Test and the ongoing T20I series against England. He would not be part of the ODI series as well. India had won the Test to clinch the series 3-1 and enter the final of the World Test Championship.
Soon after the photos were out, Indian cricketers started pouring in wishes for the newly-wed couple on social media. Indian skipper Virat Kohli and many others commented on his Instagram handle.
