The Indian batters had a dismal show with team Indian bowled out for only 78 runs in the first innings. In the first innings, Rohit Sharma top scored for India with only 19 runs. For England, Anderson and Overton picked up three wickets each, followed by Robinson and Sam Curran who picked up two wickets each. At the end of the first day, England was batting at 120-0. Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first.
England captain Joe Root Registered yet another century on the second day of the third test. Root scored 121 runs in 165 balls before Bumrah got his wicket.
