Samsung to cut thousand of jobs as AI Competition Heats Up | Tech Layoffs 2024

Samsung is laying off workers in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand as the company is reducing global headcount by thousands of jobs, Bloomberg reported citing people in the know. The layoffs could affect about 10% of the workforces in those markets and the numbers for each subsidiary may vary, the report added. Job cuts are planned for other overseas subsidiaries and could reach 10% in certain markets, it claimed.
