Mixed Signals from US Markets: Dow Slips 90 Pts, S&P 500 Falls Slightly
Mixed signals from American markets, sluggish movement of American markets on Friday. Dow Jones slipped 90 points amid trading in the range of 350 points. S&P 500 fell slightly after setting a new record for the third day. Nasdaq weakened 0.25%. Pressure on smallcap shares again, Russell 2000 fell 1.1%. 2.7 lakh new jobs were added in May, the estimate was 1.9 lakh jobs. Unemployment increased from 3.9% to 4%. 10 year bond yield jumped beyond 4.45%. Chances of rate cut in September reduced from 70% to 50%. Now experts are expecting only 1 rate cut this year. Heavy fall in all commodities on Friday.
