SCO Summit: PM Narendra Modi meets Russian President Vladimir Putin, other dignitaries in Samarkand | PHOTOS
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called on the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to develop reliable and resilient supply chains to offset the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukraine crisis and said better connectivity and granting "full rights" of transit facilities by member states is important to achieve the goal.
At the SCO Summit, PM Modi observed that the Indian economy is expected to grow by 7.5 per cent this year and it will be the highest among the world's largest economies.
In his address, the prime minister also said India is making progress to become a manufacturing hub while highlighting various aspects of the country's economy. "We are making progress on making India a manufacturing hub. India's young and talented workforce makes us naturally competitive," he said.
On the sidelines of the SCO Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, among other dignitaries in Samarkand.
