The Federal University of Sao Paulo, which is helping coordinate phase 3 clinical trials in Brazil, separately said that the volunteer was Brazilian.
Brazil health authority Anvisa said on Wednesday that trials of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and University of Oxford would continue after the death of volunteer involved in the tests.
Anvisa gave no further details on the death, citing confidentiality protocols.
