After the death of the longest-serving Arab World's leader Sultan Qaboos, there has been speculation as to whom the legacy and power of Sultan Qaboob will be transferred. Omani newspapers have been guessing about various names, however, it seems that finally, they have got some clue in regard to the appointment of Haitham bin Tariq al-Said as new ruler of Oman.

The Sultan, who ruled Oman for almost half a century, was unmarried and had no heir or had designated successor, according to media. Last month he returned home after undergoing medical checks and treatment in Belgium. There were reports he was suffering from cancer, the BBC said in a report.
