Flyers rejoice! The Dubai airport is providing the passengers with a free bus service, which will be deployed starting today. This bus facility will enable the passengers to move from one Dubai airport to the other without trouble. The development comes after the announcement made by the officials with regard to the shutdown of the southern runway of the Dubai International Airport. The southern runway of the Dubai International Airport is scheduled to remain unavailable from April 16 to May 30, a 45 day long shutdown. The runway will undergo series of refurbishment, to accommodate and ease the future traffic growth. Dubai Airport says that both Dubai World Central (DWC) and Dubai International Airport (DXB) are 'good to go' post the commencement of the renovation of the runway.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, said, "Planning and preparations have been underway for almost two years in close coordination with Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, airlines, the regulator and a host of other service partners to make sure this massive project goes off without a hitch. "
For this 45 day duration, the passengers travelling to Dubai will witness a potential change in the airport they land at. The scheduling experts although have optimised DXB's other runway operations such that there will be reduction of available seats by 29%. Meanwhile, many travelers and passengers will benefit from the fats and convenient service from Dubai's second airport, Dubai World Central. This airport is set handle an average of 145 passenger flights, including Wizz Air, Aeroflot, Indigo, SpiceJet, Gulf Air, Ukraine International Airlines, Ural Airlines, Nepal Airlines and Kuwait Airways.

Furthermore, the Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority will provide with integrated ground solution for the Dubai World Central airport, with regular bus services from key locations in Dubai to the airport. Additionally, taxi services will also be given by the authorities, with discounts for the passengers till the closure period.
"We're confident that we are fully prepared and good to go for April 16.We are encouraging passengers to confirm their airport of departure before they set out to take their flights but otherwise they can expect smooth operations and great service." said Paul Griffiths, CEO, Dubai Airports.
