Nepal's Meteorological Forecasting Division said the monsoon weather system entered from the country's eastern part of Koshi province.

"This year's monsoon has just entered the country from eastern Nepal. It arrived three days earlier than the scheduled forecast," said Nepal's Meteorological Forecasting Division.

It said that June 13 was the tentative date for the arrival of the monsoon this year.

"It will advance gradually to other parts of the country as well," it said.

According to forecasts by the Division, the monsoon season this year is expected to bring 35 to 55 per cent more rainfall than the average.

Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has made necessary preparations to deal with the possible disasters associated with the monsoon.
