According to an Air India official, the airline aims to conduct its current international operations with a "zero risk" policy.

Meanwhile, the Indian government is mulling an advisory for Indian airlines operating in the region, Zee Business learned from sources.

Earlier, Air India was learned to be planning to change the routes of its flight operations in the air spaces adjacent to Israel and Iran, including an alternative route for its flights from New Delhi to London crossing the region close to the Iranian air space.

The airline was also learned to be reconsidering all its flight operations on international routes. It is also learned to have equipped all its international flights with extra fuel in order to cater to the possibilities of emergency diversions in order to avoid Iranian or Israeli air spaces.

The airline has already cancelled a scheduled flight to Tel Aviv in Israel.

The developments follow fresh escalations in the ongoing war between Israel and Iran, after Iran launched a missile attack on Israel, according to Iran's state media. The news came hours after news agency AP quoted a US official as saying that Iran was preparing an imminent ballistic missile attack on Israel. The official also warned of "severe consequences" for Iran, according to the report.
