The holiday season is upon us and like all other transport means, aviation too is flooded by demands from flyers to reach them to their destination in reasonable comfort. However, with demand skyrocketing, airlines and airports too, are hard-pressed to keep up. So, in a bid to beat the Christmas holiday rush, Emirates has advised its passengers, flying out of Dubai over the weekend to arrive at the airport very, very early. This weekend, the airline is expecting over 100,000 passengers at Terminal 3, and the flyers are advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours before boarding time for their flight!

December 14, is the busiest day with 30,000 passengers scheduled to travel from Dubai airport and the peak season will continue throughout this month. The high passenger traffic will again peak over the next weekend, i.e. 21st December, which is between Friday and 22nd December - a Saturday.

According to a report by khaleejtimes.com, the airline has urged the passengers to keep extra time in hand to avoid potential delays as the road works and infrastructure enhancements happening around the main airport highways and roads during this time eat up lots of time.

Dubai's flagship airline Emirates has given reminders to every passenger to arrive at the airport a minimum three hours before the time of departure of their respective flights and requested them to complete their check-in as soon as possible. Passengers can physically check in at the airport six hours before the departing of the flights during this time. Regardless the class in which the passengers are travelling, they are requested to complete the check-in no later than two hours ahead of their scheduled departures.

Notably, the flyers who seek to check in 60 minutes prior to their flight's departure will not be accepted.

However, there is some relief for passengers available. They can also complete their check-in online from 48 hours to 90 minutes before flight departure.
