Have you heard about a giant meteor fireball shooting towards Earth with bright light and glowing brightly in the sky? Believe it or not, this cosmic event occurred in Yushu City, which is situated in the north western region of China. A giant meteor fireball was spotted flashing across the sky and finally crashing on the ground on Wednesday. This has not only stunned the local residents and spread panic but also everybody who has seen the video footage of this. This video has gone viral now.

According to reports, Dan Ba, a local in the Yushu city witnessed the even unfolding before his eyes. He was taking his child to school when this happened. He said that the object was initially very small but in a matter of minutes it started becoming bigger and brighter. Many other locals had reported hearing loud banging sounds. 

The fireball was also recorded by passengers on a plane traveling from Xi’an to Lhasa as it lightened up the sky with its bright light. Many people shared their own videos on the social media too.

One of the Twitter user posted how a similar incident happened in Alabama, where a meteor shone bright in the skies. “Today two strange and sensational events took place in Qinghai China and in Marshall County Alabama USA. A Meteor makes a LANDFALL in qinghai while in Alabama a Meteor SHINES BRIGHT in the SKIES. We will be needing astrologers to help us MAKE SENSE out of the strange events,” he wrote. 

China’s Earthquake Networks Centre also confirmed that a suspected bolide (a bright meteor, that usually explodes in the atmosphere) landed near the border between Nangqian County and Yusu County at 7.25am, but no one was injured. It had confirmed about the event through social media. 

A NASA report suggests that more than 50,000 meteorites have been found on earth, of December 2019.
