Frequent aviation security scares have forced authorities to crack down on what can be brought aboard flights and these are the many items on the hit list. The regulations regarding what can be taken onto flights can soon be applied to the UK flights, reports Express UK. Powdered materials of just 12 ounces can be carried in hand luggage, if the new norms are put into action. This means passengers can not take cosmetics, coffees and spices onboard. Foods fall into liquid category and are not allowed to be taken inside flights.
Fortunately, for those who feel peckish most of the time or really get hungry when they are travelling, then they can take with them items like sandwiches and crisps. However, semi-liquid foods like jams, honey and even Marmite are not allowed. Soups are also not allowed and any containers that are larger than 100ml even if only partially full are not allowed. Bottled water is also prohibited even if sealed. However, empty bottles can be taken along, according to Express UK report.
Frozen foods partially defrosted can also be barred, as this would be counted as a liquid. Anything like ice or ice-cream can't not be taken unless fully frozen.
Even fresh fruit and vegetables are not allowed for flights departing for some specified destinations.
