Bags a passenger can carry should not be more than 75 cm high, 60 cm wide and 90 cm long with at least one level surface, the report said. Two items wrapped together will not be accepted. The airport will not accept bags that might disrupt the systems.

The baggage which will not meet the specifications stated in the notification will be processed based on the airline's weight allowance or they will be allowed on prior arrangements with Sharjah Aviation Services.
Sharjah Airport is now trying to boost its service efficiency. These include baggage transport services to improve the competitiveness of the airport. This may encourage passenger loyalty, and enhance Sharjah's role as an important hub in the aviation industry, the report said.

SAA will also now provide a service of transferring the contents of rejected baggage into cardboard boxes for a small fee.

The airport handles a growing number of bags. There is a 5 percent increase in the number of bags handled in the first halves of 2017 and 2018 by the airport.
Sharjah Airport tracks the bags through the airport in real time through advanced luggage transfer system.
