Earthquake in Nepal: An earthquake of 4.7 magnitudes recorded on Richter Scale jolted Nepal on September 26.

Earthquake in Nepal: An earthquake of 4.7 magnitudes recorded on Richter Scale jolted Nepal on September 26. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) of Nepal reported about the earthquake. As per the NCS, the quake occurred at around 6:49 PM (local time) and its epicenter was at the border of the Gorkha-Lamjung district. No casualty or damage to the public property has been reported till the report was written at (9:30 PM on September 26).
Sharing the experience of the aftershock with media, people of Gorkha-Lamjung district said that they rushed out of their house after feeling the tremors. They said the magnitude of the earthquake was immense and reminded them about the massive 2015 earthquake.

The NSC further reported that earthquake in Nepal was an aftershock of the massive 2015 earthquake that claimed around 9,000 lives leaving around 22,000 people injured. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the aftershock is an earthquake of lesser magnitude that follows after the mainshock. Depending upon the size of the mainshock, it can continue for weeks, months and sometimes even for years.
