Earthquake in Iran: An earthquake of 5.8 magnitudes recorded on the Richter scale today hit the North Iranian province Khorasan-e-Razavi.
Earthquake in Iran: A quake of 5.8 magnitudes recorded on the Richter Scale today hit the North Iranian province Khorasan-e-Razavi. The Iranian Seismological Department informed about the tremors and affected area. The concerned department also informed that there was no damage to the public or any public property. The Iranian North East region falls under the Seismic zone and earthquakes are common phenomena here.
The Seismological Department of Iran informed that the earthquake took place at 4:29 GMT and its epicenter was located around 8 kms or 5 miles deep inside the earth. Sangan town was the most affected region of this earthquake.

Iran is located in the active seismic zone and earthquakes are a regular phenomenon there. However, the earthquake was not a devastating one but people are frightened as there might be a series of aftershocks coming in the near future.
