Academy Awards 2020 winners: South Korean social satire "Parasite" created history on Monday morning, becoming the first foreign language film to win the Oscar for best picture. The film is about the gap between rich and poor in modern Seoul. It won a total of four Oscars, including best director and screenplay for Bong Joon Ho and best international feature. The other big awards of the night went to Joaquin Phoenix, who won his first Oscar, for best actor, for playing a failing clown who finds fame in violence in the dark comic-book tale "Joker," and Renee Zellweger won the best actress Oscar for her performance as an ageing Judy Garland in the musical biopic "Judy."

The ceremony will also be remembered for two versatile actors - Brad Pitt and Laura Dern - both winning their first ever acting Oscar awards. Brad Pitt won it for his supporting role as a laid-back stunt man in Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' while Dern took the supporting actress Oscar for playing a ruthless divorce lawyer in "Marriage Story."
