Beer sales in Ghaziabad cross Rs 400 crore amid scorching heat this summer

Beer sales surged to a record Rs 400 crore in Ghaziabad at the peak of the summer season this year, according to data from the excise department.

Officials acknowledged that the record sales were driven by the scorching heat and the absence of price hikes.

Official data showed sales amounting to RS 397.16 crore in the region in the April-June period.

The quarterly figure stood 106 per cent higher in comparison to the previous year.

In volume terms, the number of beer cans sold during April-June stood at 1,33,69,674 units, up 16 per cent on a year-on-year basis.
