Broader indices Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 finished July 2024 5.8% and 4.5% higher, respectively.
Sensex and Nifty50 finished the month with gains of about 3-4%.
RVNL, MMTC, Deepak Fertilisers, Alembic Pharma & Zydus Wellness - clocking monthly gains of anywhere between 34% and 44% - rose the most among the 360-odd gainers in the BSE 500 basket.
Other top gainers in the 500-scrip basket included Suzlon Energy, Castrol, Frstsource, Inox Wind and Swan energy, rising between 29% and 31%.
On the other hand, Equitas SFB, Angel One, IIFL Finance, SKF India and CSB Bank - declining between 13% and 17% for the month - were the worst hit in the BSE 500 universe.
Macrotech, Titagarh, Tejas Networks - declining around 12-13% each - were also among the top laggards.
