News quoting Bloomberg. HAL likely to get Maharatna status by the end of the year. Government approval will not be necessary for investments up to ₹5000 Cr. At present, approval is not necessary for investments up to ₹ 1000 Cr. After getting Maharatna status, approval is not required for investment up to ₹5000 Cr.
