Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented India's Union Budget 2017-18 speech in Parliament in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The Government of India for the first time presented the Union Budget on February 1 as against its traditional practice of presenting it on the last working day of February.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting tweeted the five announcements that Budget 2017 made for the country's healthcare sector.

Here are five key announcements of Budget 2017 for healthcare sector:
1.1.5 lakh health sub-centres to be transformed to Health Wellness Centres
2. To ensure adequate availability of specialised doctors, steps to be taken to create additional 5,000 post-graduate seats per annum
3. Two All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMs) to be set up in Jharkhand and Gujarat.
4. Proposes to amend Drug and Cosmetics Rules to ensure availability of drugs at reasonable prices.
5. New rules regarding medical devices to be formulated.
