Why BHEL, Titagarh Wagon, BEML, and RVNL are on the radar as Budget 2025 draws close?

There is news for companies including BHEL, Titagarh Wagon, BEML and RVNL as the government in the upcoming Union Budget 2025 is likely to focus on railway safety as well as infra development. Further, this time around the centre may allocate an additional 18 per cent towards Railways as per reports.

Primarily, these rail infra-related companies have already seen a boom and may get a push further on the centre's additional measures resulting in a boost to the rail infrastructure together with passenger facilities in the country.

In the previous budget announced on August 5, the record capital expenditure (capex) to the tune of Rs 2,62,200 crore was earmarked for the Railways.

There are plans to armour around 10,000 locos in the next 2 years, with an additional plan to armour 15,000 km rail line. And for the same, the budgetary outlay of Rs 12,000 crore is estimated.

Besides, in case of the rolling stock, there will be an additional budgetary allocation.

Also, new orders are expected for forged wheels. Also, there will be an increase in the number of advanced trains including Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat.

Furthermore, under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme, the government may announce new stations. The recent introduction of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims to enhance and modernize railway stations throughout the Indian Railways network. The scheme currently intends to upgrade and modernize a total of 1275 stations across the Indian Railway system. Within this initiative, 18 stations from the Sonpur Division and 20 stations from the Samastipur Division have been singled out for attention.

On the sidelines, the Railways is also gearing up preparations for hydrogen trains together with new-edge fuel.
