Speaking about India’s accomplishments, the Prime Minister noted the pride in India’s democratic journey, marking 75 years of independence. "It is a matter of great pride that India has completed 75 years as a democratic nation and has established itself on the global pedestal," he remarked.
The PM also highlighted the importance of this Budget, marking the first full budget of his third term, and shared his vision for India’s future. "In 2047, when India celebrates 100 years of independence, we will fulfill our goal of becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India),” he said. "This budget will serve as a catalyst to give new energy and hope to the nation, and empower 140 crore citizens to fulfill this vision."
He further emphasised the government’s commitment to all-round development, stating, “We are in mission mode, with a roadmap based on innovation, inclusion, and investment." PM Modi indicated that historic bills will be discussed during the session and that discussions will center on reform, performance, and transformation. He also emphasised collaboration between the Centre and states to bring about meaningful change.
Pointing to the nation’s youthful demographic, the Prime Minister noted that those aged 25-26 today will be the key beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat vision. He assured that, by the time they are 45-46 years old, they will see the tangible benefits of the country's growth.
In conclusion, PM Modi called on all Members of Parliament (MPs) to contribute to strengthening the goal of Viksit Bharat, particularly the younger MPs who will play an instrumental role in this transformation. "This is a golden opportunity for them to witness and contribute to Viksit Bharat. I hope we will stand up to the hopes and expectations of the people," he said.
