Government allocates Rs 69000 cr on health sector
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday, while presenting the Budget 2020, said that the government will eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) by 2025. The Finance Minister said this while announcing an allocation of Rs 69000 sr for the health sector during the Financial Year 2020-21 (April-March).
Among other things proposed in the budget on health, water and wellness, the finance minister said that the government will be expanding Jan Aushadi Kendra scheme to ll districts by 2024.
The finance minister also announced that the government was committed to making India open defecation free (ODF+) to sustain ODF behaviour and ensure no one is left behind. The government will also enhance its focus on solid waste segregation and collection.
The finance minister also announced the allocation of Rs 3.6 lakh cr for its flagship scheme Jal Jeevan Mission. The government also announced an allocation of Rs 12,300 cr for the Swachh Bharat Mission. The FM also said that the government will take steps to remove manual scavenging in the country.
