UCL Champions League 2022 Results Round-up: Night of wondergoals! John Stones scores a worldie, Haaland stuns Dortmund - Watch Video
UCL Champions League 2022 Results: Borussia Dortmund's prodigal son Erling Haaland returned to haunt them - and how! All eyes were on Haaland, as he locked horns with his former teammates at Dortmund who knew him all too well — a fact he did admit in the post-match chat, as he said, "I was quite sure I was gonna be followed the whole game."
Manchester City went a goal down early in the second half, courtesy a Jude Bellingham goal in the 56th minute. Dortmund defended well, and City struggled to break the deadlock until the 80th minute when John Stones rekindled memories of "that Vincent Kompany wonder goal against Leicester City" with a scintillating strike from outside the box.
After that City had more belief as they launched wave after wave of attack on Alexander Meyer's goal.
But it was Erling Haaland who actually stole show as he netted his second goal in as many matches in the UEFA Champions League. even on a night when Paris Saint-Germain superstars Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar all scored in a comeback win.
Manchester City also trailed, deep into the game, at home Wednesday against Haaland's former club Borussia Dortmund in a fascinating quick reunion for the prolific Norway prodigy.
The stage was set for Haaland to seal a 2-1 win after teammate John Stones leveled the game scoring with a stunning shot in the 80th minute.
The Norwegian prodigy rose to the challenge and met Joao Cancelo's curling cross from "outside the boot" with a twisting leap and acrobatic volley to send goalward a ball that seemed to have passed him. It was Haaland's 26th goal in his 21st Champions League game.
So far this season, Haaland has scored in six straight games for City and has a rate of better than a goal per game this season.

Rangers 0-3 Napoli
A tough night for Scottish clubs saw Rangers lose 3-0 at home to Napoli despite 40-year-old goalkeeper Allan McGregor saving two penalty kicks early in the second half.
Napoli was awarded three spot-kicks, through the second was a re-take after an encroachment offense when Matteo Politano followed up McGregor's first save to score from the rebound.
On his second attempt, Piotr Zielinski fired his penalty in the same place and McGregor saved again.
When Napoli got another penalty for handball 10 minutes later, Politano stepped up and scored though McGregor got a hand to the ball on its way into the net. Napoli added late goals from substitutes Giacomo Raspadori and Tanguy Ndombele.
Rangers were down to 10 men after James Sands, the United States international on loan from New York City FC, was sent off when the first penalty was awarded.
