After South Africa pacers scalped Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in quick succession, the highest run getter in T20 in 2022, Suryakumar Yadav, and KL Rahul stitched a formidable partnership of 107 runs to take India to victory in in Thiruvananthapuram.  

Earlier, Chahar and Arshdeep were impressive in their dismantling of South Africa with the new ball, reducing the side to 9/5 inside three overs and deciding the result of the game there itself. Harshal Patel also had some wickets against his name and India will be hoping he gets more scalps in coming matches.

India will lock horns against Sount Africa in the second T20 match (Sunday) at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati today. The last match of the series will be played in Indore on October 4.

The second T20I match between India and South Africa will begin at 7 pm IST. India vs South Africa second T20I match will be televised on Star Sports Network in India. Besides, India vs South Africa second T20I match will be streamed live on Disney+Hotstar. 

India vs South Africa 2nd T20 2022: Is a rare series win on the cards?

Meanwhile, with mystery still surrounding around the availability of pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah for the Men`s T20 World Cup, India would be looking to put that on the backburner and try to get a rare series win, the first time over South Africa at home on Sunday. when the second T20I happens at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday. 

After the T20 series, India will also play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) against South Africa, starting with the first ODI in Lucknow on October 6. The second and the third ODI will be played in Ranchi on October 9 and Delhi on October 11 respectively.
