IND vs AFG Live Streaming, Cricket World Cup 2023 Match 9: A star-studded Team India squad will have to quickly adapt from the slow, turning pitch at Chepauk or M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, to a belter of a track at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, October 11 — the ground where the last game between South Africa and Sri Lanka saw a run-fest worth over 700 runs last week. India will be at the top of their game having beaten the giant of ICC trophies — Australia — in a humdinger of a contest on Sunday. And the game will be a homecoming for chase master Virat Kohli who excelled against the Aussies alongside KL Rahul in the run-chase at Chepauk. While Kohli will be batting in front of pavilion named after him, the Afghans will have no shortage of support as a large population of migrant and displaced Afghans call the Indian capital their home. All-in-all a cracker of a contest awaits between the bat and ball on Wednesday.

India Squad: Strengths and Weaknesses

As we saw in Chennai, Team India's biggest strength — top heavy batting order — is also its biggest weakness. Three wickets tumbled in no time, and the pressure was on the middle order. While one would say that skipper Rohit Sharma succumbed to a peach of a Josh Hazlewood delivery that pitched in the rough, darted and thudded into his pads, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer got out playing irresponsible shots. Going ahead, in the absence of Sharma's regular opening partner Shubman Gill (who is yet to recover from a bout of dengue), India will want Kishan to get some runs under the belt in Delhi. The team management could also look to give Suryakumar Yadav a go in the number four spot. It is highly unlikely that the bowling combination of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya will be tinkered with in Delhi, but Mohammed Shami could get drafted into the side in case the team management wants to give recently-recovered Bumrah some rest on the docile pitch.

Afghanistan Squad: Strengths and Weaknesses

Afghanistan will look to put the heavy loss against Bangladesh behind them and aim to turn things around in Delhi. Hashmatullah Shahidi will be banking on his spinners — Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Zadran — to provide the breakthroughs, but it's actually the Afghan batting that's really been their weak link. Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran will have to step up to the plate if the Afghans are to put up a fight in Delhi. However, all eyes will be on their star bowler Rashid Khan, and whether he can muster all his IPL experience to marshal the troops and lift the spirits of those around him.

Bonus: There are videos of Naveen ul Haq receiving some stick from the Dharamsala crowd for his infamous dig at Virat Kohli. It will be interesting to see how he deals with the bolsterous crowd at the star batsman's homeground. It is highly unlikely that the duo will have a run-in, but considering the "zen" like state that Virat's in, he might just shoosh the crowd!
