Even though it is a dead-rubber match for the Indian squad, the Afghans will look for a consolation win against the Indians. The Indian fans, however, want to watch the Shivam Dube show, who has been phenomenal not just with the bat but also with the ball. Along with that, youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal also marked his comeback to the playing 11 with a brilliant half-century hitting at a strike rate of 200. 

However, the Indian bowlers could have upped the ante in the series. Spinner Axar Patel and pacer Arshdeep Singh have been keeping the runs in check and also picked up crucial wickets when needed.

Afghanistan, on the other hand, looked like a better side in the ODI World Cup back in November. They made the highest T20I score against India in the last match, which shows how their batting has improved. However, their bowlers were smashed around the park by Dube and Jaiswal, but if they can find their way through the Indian batters' defences, then they stand a chance of winning the match.

2nd T20I Recap

After winning the toss, Afghanistan was asked to bat first by India. They had a shaky start as both of their openers, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, got out early. The middle order managed to stabilise the innings courtesy of Gulbadin Naib's 57 runs off 35 balls. However, the other batters couldn't make such an impact but played some cameo roles to rack up a total of 172 runs in 20 overs, losing all 10 wickets in the process. Indian bowlers weren't that solid with the ball, but pacer Arshdeep Singh and spin all-rounder Axar Patel were the best from the bunch. Arshdeep picked up three wickets in his four overs, while Axar picked up two, giving away 32 and 17 runs, respectively.

India suffered an early blow when skipper Rohit Sharma was bowled by pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi off the very first ball he faced. Despite that, the Afghans' celebration was short-lived due to Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal's onslaught, as they smashed almost every ball they faced to the boundary. Dube scored 63 off 32 balls, while Jaiswal made 68 off 34 balls, overhauling the target in 15.4 overs and winning the match by six wickets.

For Afghanistan, pacer Karim Janat had the best bowling figures, as he picked up two wickets while giving away just 13 runs in his two overs.
