Australia scored 270 runs for 8 in their second innings and set a tough target of 444 runs for their opponents. In their chase, India lost wickets of Shubman Gill (18), Rohit Sharma (43) and Cheteshwar Pujara (27). From Australia, Pat Cummins, Scot Boland, and Nathan Lyon have taken one wicket each.

Earlier, Australia resumed their innings on Saturday at 123 for 4 and lost a wicket without adding a single run to the scoreboard as Umesh Yadav took Marnus Labuschagne's wicket. But Alex Carey (66 not out) and Mitchell Starc (41) that Australia stay in a good position as it posted 270 for 8 in their second innings, taking a massive 444-run lead over India. From India, Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets, while Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav took two wickets each. Mohammed Siraj took one wicket.

Now that we are on Day 5 of the WTC 2023 Final, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane need to stay on at the crease for a long time as India still needed 280 runs to win. A wicket at this stage will make Australians' job very easier.

The summit clash is a five-day Test match that started on June 7 and will end on June 11, with June 12 as the reserve day if inclement weather interrupts play. This is the first-ever neutral test match and also the first-ever test match that is being played in the month of June at The Oval. The first test match was played in 1880 at this venue.
