ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Schedule, Timings, Teams, Groups, Fixtures, Dates, Format: The T20 World Cup in Australia will be the marquee event in the 2022 cricket calendar. The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 starts on October 16 and ends on November 13 with the final.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Final will be held at the MCG - Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on November 13.

Defending champions Australia will have the home advantage as they vie for the ICC T20 World 2022 champions crown against strong contenders like India, England, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, among others. On their day, dark horses like Sri Lanka, West Indies and Bangladesh can upset any title contender. On the other hand, Scotland and Ireland have upset many an applecart in the past, and teams that take them lightly will do so at their own peril.

The ICC T20 World Cup matches will be played at Melbourne, Geelong, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

A total of 16 teams — Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Namibia, Scotland, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland, UAE, Netherlands and Zimbabwe, will play the ICC world T20 2022 tournament.

Ten out of these 16 are the top 10 teams from the ICC rankings.

The remaining six teams are chosen through the T20 World Cup Qualifier. Four out of these 6 teams will be eliminated in Round 1.

Eight of the Top 10 teams in the ICC Rankings are part of Group 1 and 2 — Afghanistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and South Africa.

Of the eight teams left — Sri Lanka, West Indies, alongwith the other 6 teams— Namibia, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Scotland, and Zimbabwe — will be a part of the qualifier groups that will vie for the four slots in the Super 12 pool.
