Lucknow Super Giants fell just six runs short of the IPLs highest total ever, posted by Royal Challengers Bangalore against now-defunct Pune Warriors on April 23, 2013.
Top 10 highest totals in IPL: Lucknow Super Giants on Friday wrote their name in record books as they posted the Indian Premier League's second-highest total ever. Playing against Punjab Kings at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali, the KL Rahul-led team posted a mammoth 257 for five in 20 overs.
They fell just six runs short of the IPL's highest total ever, 263 for five, posted by Royal Challengers Bangalore against now-defunct Pune Warriors on April 23, 2013.
RCB also have the tournament's third highest total to their name, scoring 248 for three against Gujarat Lions on May 14, 2016.
On Friday, Marcus Stoinis 72 runs (40 balls), Kyle Mayers 54 runs (24 balls), Ayush Badoni 43 runs (24 balls), and Nicholas Pooran 45 runs (19 balls) played firy knocks for their team as Lucknow scored 257 for five.
