IPL 2023: MI vs KKR Head-to-Head

Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians will meet two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders in their IPL 2023 match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai at 3:30 P.M. match on Sunday. This will be the first match between both teams in IPL 2023. MI and KKR both have played 31 IPL matches between them so far. MI have been very dominant as they have beaten KKR 22 times. On the other hand, Kolkata have just nine wins to their name.

Mumbai Indians had a lacklustre show in the beginning of the tournament, losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings in the first two matches.

Mumbai regained their composure in their previous match, against Delhi Capitals, and won the match by six wickets. 

Kolkata Knight Riders, meanwhile, have played four matches, registering two wins and two losses.

They lost their IPL 2023 opening match to Punjab Kings by 7 runs (DLS method).

In their second match, they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore convincingly, and defeated Gujarat Titans in their third match. However, they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in a high-scoring match on Friday.   

This will be the 32nd IPL match between the two teams. Mumbai Indians have clear edge winning 22 matches, while Kolkata have just nine wins to their name. 

Head-to-Head MI vs KKR in Last Five Meetings

Mumbai Indians have a clear edge in the overall record, but Kolkata can take a cue from the fact they have beaten Mumbai in their last three meetings.

In their last match at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on May 9, 2022, MI’s Jasprit Bumrah came up with a sensational spell of five for 10, but Kolkata still managed 165 for nine courtesy Venkatesh Iyer 43 runs (24 balls) and Nitish Rana 43 runs (26 balls).

But in reply, Mumbai Indians flopped badly, and barring Ishan Kishan 51 runs (43 balls), no batsman could score more than 15 runs.

Pat Cummins took three for 23 as Mumbai Indians were bundled out for 113 runs in 17.3 overs for a 52-run loss.
