IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals today scored the third lowest total (59 runs all out) in IPL history after they suffered a humiliating 112-run loss at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur today (May 14, 2023).

Batting first, Bangalore posted a fighting total of 171 for five in 20 overs.

It looked as if in-form Royals would easily chase down the target in front of their home crowd.

But it never happened as Bangalore bowlers Wayne Parnell (3/10), Michael Bracewell (2/16) and Karn Sharma (2/19) broke the backbone of their batting line-up.

Both Rajasthan openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler returned without opening their accounts.

Half their team returned at 28 runs.

Had it not been for Shimron Hetmyer's 35 (19), the team would not have reached even 50.

The last four wickets scored just nine runs before the team was bundled out for 59.

Interestingly, the IPL's second-lowest score (58 runs) has also been scored by Rajasthan Royals against the same team (Bangalore) in Cape Town in 2019.

The lowest score in IPL is 49 runs, when Royal Challengers Bangalore were bundled out by Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in 2017.
